SYCDVK
SYCDVK
SYCDVK is a Denver-based conceptual music project with roots in rock, jazz, and alternative genres. Groove oriented rhythms, complexly intelligent guitar work, and crooning vocals contribute to the bands unique sound that has been likened to the sounds of Frank Zappa and Radiohead. The band released their debut album "Aubrey" in 2017 to local acclaim, and was named one of Denver's bands to watch by 303 Magazine.
The Hollow
The Hollow
The Hollow is a dynamic alternative-rock band with a tightly focused sound that threatens to transform the pedestrian landscape of contemporary rock ’n roll. With thoughtfully layered guitars built upon a hard-driving rhythm section, their powerful music espouses beguiling lyrics and infectious melodies that evoke modern rock icons such as Queens of the Stone Age and Muse.

The Hollow has one definitive task on their agenda: to deliver exceptional music that makes people fall in love with rock ’n roll again.

Venus Cruz has opened for artists such as Black Thought of The Roots, Saul Williams, Zap Mama, Goapele, Al Green, Guru, Vieux Farka Toure, Tinariwen and Bishop Desmond Tutu, to name a few. Within weeks of it forming in 2016, her current band, "What Young Men Do,” performed at The Denver Post Underground Music Showcase, the Larimer Block Party (now Project PBR), and opened for Grammy-nominated artists Hiatus Kaiyote and Emily King. Other highlights in 2016 included opening for Grammy winner Gregory Porter at The Chautauqua Amphitheater in Boulder, performances at Denver's Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), City Park Jazz, the Prince Tribute at Red Rocks, the Queen City Festival at the City Hall Amphitheater and a return to Chautauqua as a special guest for their curated music series. In 2017 she performed in the play "The Christians" at the Denver Center for Performing Arts (directed by Kent Thompson). She is also the host and DJ for the internationally popular radio show "Jazz Odyssey" every Wednesday (10 p.m. to 12 a.m.) on KUVO.org 89.3FM.
