Nasty Nachos EP Release Show!

Nasty Nachos

The Milk Blossoms, RUMTUM

Ages 21+
Nasty Nachos live at Hi-Dive for an EP release party w/ The Milk Blossoms & RUMTUM.

From the ashes of many musical endeavors, Nasty Nachos comes as a culmination of influences, instruments, and experiences of it's creator, Alex Anderson.

Anderson spends his days at modular synthesizer company WMD, developing and demoing new pieces of modular gear. His nights are consumed with composing, testing, and putting this gear through it's paces. Nasty Nachos is the result of these tests. A true supporter of the local electronic music scene, Anderson hosts 2 monthly Modular Synthesizer

Nasty Nachos' live set is always changing and evolving. The energy and vibes are high and the sound is reminiscent of Todd Terje and Daft punk, with some deep house tendencies little bit of 70's funk in the mix.

With the release of a New EP entitled "The Getaway", 2020 is shaping up to be an awesome year for the Nacho.

The Milk Blossoms believe in the subversive power of fragility within music, within art, within life, and within each other. Combining ukulele, expressive beat-boxing and piano, the trio blends to create dark pop music. The Milk Blossoms have been featured on Colorado Public Radio Open Air, Radio 1190’s Local Shakedown, and was named “Best Experimental” band for the 2016 Westword Music Awards. This year, they are nominated for a Westword Music Award in the “Indie Pop” category.

“This trio defies easy categorization because its two singers, Michelle Rocqet and Harmony Rose, bring such strong voices and songwriting that are so different yet complementary. Rocqet is not just a human beatbox in the vein of Tez of CocoRosie, but also a powerful soul singer. Rose's more ethereal style brims with a raw emotional resonance. It's pop, it's soul music, and it's experimental at its core — but un-selfconsciously so.” Tom Murphy of Westword’s “The Ten Great Female-Fronted bands of Denver You Need to Know”.

They have been lucky to share the stage with acts including Ezra Furman, Cocorosie, Advance Base (formerly of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone), Jessica Lea Mayfield, Julia Nunes and Daniel Ho.

Electronic producer and instrumental enthusiast John Hastings {{{aka}}} RUMTUM has a unique approach to crafting his melodic melodies. May it be his love for native spirits or even sea life, the natural world plays the biggest part in the dynamics of his writing. From a young age his obsession for mixers and knobs grew into a passion for recording with found objects and handmade instruments.
