...and the black feathers
...and the black feathers
In an era of harmony, when music was written with love and innocence, bands backed up a great singer who could capture an audience's ear. Most frequently equated as a performer, rather than a song writer, these performers where hailed as kings and queens of their craft without writing a single song. Those days are dead and gone, but the band still plays on. These are the musicians whose names we never knew, and they are the black feathers.

Strange Kids
Strange Kids
Strange Kids is an indie, alternative, pop rock band that was conceived from a long distance friendship of two people: Kai Tezca Custodio, a transplant to Denver, CO, and Ted Pommer; both were born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.

Kai moved to Denver four years ago and Ted still resides in Brooklyn. Pommer and Custodio were bandmates prior to Kai's move to Colorado. They continued to talk about music and were interested in creating something new despite of the long distance. They traded ideas via email and the tracks eventually led to fully recorded songs.

The current line-up consists of Kai Custodio who plays sharp like a knife guitar riffs and sings melodic vocals; Brooke Theis (of the Carnivores) plays bass with a dark edge and incorporates a sonically rich low-end. Lastly, Ryan Elwood brings a solid percussive force to the trio.

Hot, dark, and mysterious...take a listen and gander at the Strange Kids.
Ned Garthe Experience
Ned Garthe Experience
Ned Garthe is a music project that began in summer 2010, launching as a solo singer/songwriter project. Started in Denver Colorado, followed by a coast to coast migration from Brooklyn, New York to Los Angeles, CA writing multiple solo albums. In January of 2012 back Denver, Ned Garthe joined forces with two local musicians Stuart Confer (drums) from Hindershot and Aaron Holtzer (Bass) of Action Friend. A month later John Paul Groseclose (Pedal Steel) was added to the line up. Musically Ned Garthe is blend of Psychedelic rock and roll and Americana. As a full band Ned Garthe has been playing shows around Denver and Ft. Collins for a few months, and currently they stepping into the studio to record their first EP.
