Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels
Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels
If the late night scene on Broadway Street in Nashville, Tennessee could talk, they'd sing you a Casey James Prestwood tune. Drenched in the honest twang that made Gram Parsons and Hank Williams household names, the classic crooner's carefree vocals and careful guitar playing feel more like country than a worn-in pair of cowboy boots.
Gasoline Lollipops
Gasoline Lollipops
Gasoline Lollipops – winner of Denver Westword's 2016 award for Best Country Artist – is a Colorado band that combines the sincerity of dirt-floor folk with the rebelliousness of punk. It's an all-new incarnation of alt-country that's both high-energy and heartfelt, like the American highway's soundtrack.
The Boulder quartet, led by singer-songwriter Clay Rose, has been honored to open for some phenomenal national acts recently, including Lucero; Todd Snider & The Hard Working Americans; the Chris Robinson Brotherhood; Robert Earl Keen; Junior Brown and Dale Watson.
2014,2015 and 2016 brought numerous awards and accolades for Gasoline Lollipops, including being selected to play six showcases in Austin during SXSW; getting voted Boulder's best band in the Colorado Daily's 2014 and 2015 polls; winning Denver Westword's aforementioned 2016 award for Best Country Artist; being selected as one of only six bands across Colorado for the highly coveted SpokesBUZZ Emerging Artists Incubator program; and winning the Oskar Blues Battle of the Bands in 2015.
Gasoline Lollipops has also been on the bills of a number of great live music festivals, including the Westword Music Showcase; NedFest; Bohemian Nights @ New West Fest; UMS Denver; Frozen Dead Guy Days; the Divide Festival; Higher Ground Music Festival; Empire Americana; FoCoMX; BolderBoulder 10K; Boulder Creek Festival; Boulder's Big Hootenanny (A Conscious Alliance event); and others.
Here's what others are saying about Gasoline Lollipops:
"Love edgy alternative rock with the energy of a rockabilly band? These guys have great original rock and roll that will keep you moving and make you want to come back for more!" – NedFest 2015
"The GasPops, as they are known by many, are in the midst of a prolific period. The Gasoline Lollipops come at alt-folk Americana with an outlaw country aggressiveness that's rugged, tough and beautiful" – J.D. Rodgers – Marquee Magazine
"One part rockabilly and one part alternative rock, the Gasoline Lollipops have carved out a space for themselves in the Boulder music scene with a sound and feel that is all their own." – Colorado Daily
5 & Dimers
5 & Dimers
5 & Dimers started on a whim when longtime sideman, Jeff Rady, and vocalist, Dustin Devine, discovered they wrote some good country songs, but had no band to play them. After a decade of playing other peoples' songs in a multitude of bands, they felt it was time to try a hand at their own record.

Before long, studio time was booked at the Denver institution Macy Sound Studios where they committed eight songs straight to tape in two days. With little time and a patched together band of some local studio aces, they created a raw and authentic sound that recalled how country records were made in the mid-1960s. 5 and Dimers celebrate that era by mixing a blend of country, old school rock and roll with just a hint of psychedelia.
