My friend DJ Postman and myself are going to be DJing the 80’s Prom in June. Since that is MY era (C/O 88 RULZ!) and Postman being a super awesome old school enthusiast, we think we pretty much got it covered. Yes we have the standards, 867-5309/Jenny (Tommy Tutone for those that didn’t know) and Funkytown, Genius of Love, Wham, etc.
I mean, do you remember Pretty Poison’s ‘Catch Me I’m Falling?’ Or Starpoint’s ‘Object of My Desire?’ Thought so. :)
But I will admit there are some we have missed. Ladyhawk just reminded me that we have to ‘Sex You Up’ too.
So, with that in mind, this thread is for suggestions. I would love to say requests but if we don’t play it (I alone have over 175 songs to choose from so far) I don’t want you to be mad. I don’t want to give away all the secrets but we will be playing everything from New Order to Afrika Bambaataa. Electro to Breakdance. Old School Rap to songs you can dance like Carlton to. Please tell me you know what I’m talking about here. And yes we will blow your mind with some slow songs (you do have a date don’t you?)
