“In The Whale sounds like the Talking Heads got the shit beat out of them by Rage Against The Machine” -Tyler Glasgow (PLACES)
In The Whale originally got started in middle-of-nowhere-land, Greeley, Colorado as a fun escape from their main bands. When those bands dissolved, it quickly became their focus, and in February of 2011 they moved to Denver to be a part of the music scene and try to build a legitimate fan base. Since their move, they have been the name on everyones lips, turning heads with their passionate and aggressive live show, in spite of their small numbers.
Their latest EP, “Cake,” is an exploration of the masculine mind and the frustration, addiction and fun of chasing a beautiful girl. They hit the nail on the head with not only the lyrics, but the tone and feel of the songs.
It is quite clear the band this just trying to be themselves through the music and it is very easy to hear their personalities come through.
