In February of 2006 Vinny, Former Front man/Bassist of Arvada Locals PukeMop, called up good friend Paddy, then front man of Denver area punk band CODENAME:Trixie, to start a new project up. Sharing Vinny’s declining interest in the somewhat stagnant Denver Punk Scene, Paddy agreed to lend some of his newly found drumming talent to the cause.

Paddy then decided to call upon long time friend Adam to see if he would be interested in rounding out the roster. After a few practices songs were coming together at a fierce pace and Jesse was added to the line up to let Vinny focus on bass.

Taking the fast, energetic ingredients from their punk roots and blending them with elements of 90’s grunge and 70’s dance music to make their sound. Add on top of this the bi polar musings of Jesse Hunsaker (think Frank Black had he been in Helmet) and you round out the Ideal Fathers sound. Ideal Fathers aims to create music you’d be equally at home dancing to as you would be sucker punching someone in the nose.
