Ellison Park was born on April 6th, 1987 in Oak Park, IL. He is a Chicagoan and bluesman at heart, but he is happily located in Denver, CO where he waits on tables and spends hours at a time writing, reading, listening, and shaping his sound. His music is innovative. You probably haven’t heard anything like it before. Ellison Park is a new breed of “singer- songwriter”. His music will remind you of something old that you can’t match a name to— something aged and weathered, yet tinged with “modern” sonority. His music is the marriage of elements of the slave spirituals, Pre-War jazz, delta blues, neo soul, r&b, and straight up rock and roll with guitar driven song structures and emotive vocal work. His music is innately American and he is proud of that. It is music of oppression, not hopelessness. It is dark, sensitive, and selfless. Ellison is a serious, focused musician who doesn’t bullshit himself or his art.
