Curious Yellow was started by Adam Lancaster (an ex-Marine) upon relocating to Denver from Minneapolis in 2001. Quickly receiving positive support from the local music community, they performed along side such national acts as Built to Spill, Phantom Planet, Lovedrug, and White Light Motorcade; consistently attracting new fans with their dynamic music and emotionally charged live performances. “Lancaster fronted the loud, energetic, melodic rock band until about 3.5 years ago, when other life priorities — like helping to run a record label (Morning After Records), holding down a day job and being a dad — necessitated stepping back” (Eryc Eyl – Westword). With new life changes, and equipped with new songs, Lancaster and friend Brian Knab of The Still City have worked closely to create a new sound; putting life back into Curious Yellow by scratching the effects pedals from earlier days for big guitars, big rhythms and big melodies.

In addition to founding member Adam Lancaster (guitar/vocals), Curious Yellow features new members Brian Knab (guitar/vocals) and Brandon Roth (drums) from The Still City, Neil Truglio (bass) of Sao Bento Music and formerly of the Innocent Thieves, and Shawn Bayer (more drums!) formerly of Angelo’s Wine (out of New York City).
