An Angle

“With the release of the limited edition EP 5 Days, 5 Songs, An Angle seems to have found their sound. With five songs and the album clocking in at a little under a half hour, this album is a definite buy for those that are fans. The albums first song really is a good representation of the songwriting maturity, Off White is a solid track that shows a bit of a more up-tempo sound than the previous An Angle recordings. Just by listening to this song, you can tell this album is a lot more horn-heavy compared to the last efforts. This is a pretty solid track and it leads into the best track on the album in Blind, Deaf And Dumb. This song lasts over seven minutes but at no time do you get bored with it. With a more of a progressive structure, this song is one that shows Anayas knack for songwriting. His vocals are in top form, they are a lot more passionate and emotionally driven. The whole vibe of the song is very cool, it has a pretty simple sound with a repetitive drum beat. Just like progressive rock music though, this songs pace a long with the whole vibe of the track changes after about four minutes in. There is also a song that is a lot faster and almost has a bit of a giddy feeling to it in I Promise You (Well Be Okay). Gotta Give Up, Gotta Give In is another song that has a happier vibe, another one that makes Anayas sound a lot stronger. The album finishes with a ballad-type track in White Roses. This is a basic piano track. I really like the sound of this song and the album in general because it doesnt have a sound that is over-engineered, it has a very raw, rough sound and that is one of the best aspects of the EP… Check it out for yourself and make your own decision.”—LEAKMOB.COM
