Formed in Denver in 2009, the recordings captured by Accordion Crimes have been described as minimal. Guitar is an additional rhythm. It possesses an aluminum tone. It is not a wall to hide behind. Lyrics are consciously created. Bass lines provide detached key signatures held together by distorted rhythms and orchestrated feedback. Drums are up front in the mix. A Tama Swingstar hit hard in a linear fashion.
Their live show is tossed up in a way that would appeal to anyone out there thinking they could do the same thing if they had enough time to ever get around to it. They follow three rules:
First, a lack of proficiency on their chosen instruments; This allows a more unique style to emerge. Second, a definite omission of melody; Their “post-punk” of the far West. And third, a demeanor of abandon; A reckless execution mixed with an offhand delivery with hard to hear wordplay.
